Querida Marta, if Reagan were alive, here’s what I’d tell him:

The Berlin Wall fell, the Schengen Wall remains. Most of the prosperity remains west of the Schengen Curtain.

Ukraine gave up the world's third-largest nuclear arsenal for a few billion dollars' worth of IMF loans. Those loans acted as reform substitutes that helped create one of the most kleptocratic governments and poorest populations in Europe. Ukraine’s population has declined from 52 million in 1992 to less than 46 million in 2009.

Today, Ukraine is threatened by Russia and snubbed by pro-Russian NATO/EU countries.

Compared to Russia, we do have more democracy in Ukraine, but we don't have more prosperity and security.

The fall of the Berlin Wall has yet to become a “happy end” for us.

querito Taras, de acuerdo en todo, MENOS en "Today, Ukraine is threatened by Russia and snubbed by pro-Russian NATO/EU countries",

NO es así... lo que hay es ignorancia y desconocimiento, no en todos los países por igual, claro; pero no es rechazo...

muchos saludos!
